Full of hope!

Meet Your LeadHer

Hope D, is the current contributing co-founders of The LaughtHER Collective! With decades of combined experience in entertainment, higher education, and career counseling, Hope's creating an inclusive comedy collective focused on amplify underrepresented voices. and help everyone discover their unique comedic perspective.
Hope has sat through comedy classes where the teachers talk more about their last performance than how to actually write a joke. Hope has listened to teachers drop the names of comics they know and have performed with, but never drop tips and tricks. Hope has also sat through classes where the teacher has gone out of their way to say "your voice is needed in comedy more than ever".
While maintaining a 4.0 GPA (humble brag) at Manhattan College , Hope obtained their Masters in Organizational Leadership simultaneously training at The PIT in NYC and virtually with UCB during the pandemic. Hope has comprehensive comedy training in stand up, improvisation, and sketch comedy both performance and writing. Hope went on to be selected for the NY Underground Comedy Festival’s Diversity Showcase and has performed on dozens of stages in NYC and the greater New England area. After all of that, Hope took their own experience, decades of education, and years of training and put together comedy education that is innovative, inclusive, approachable, supportive, and fun. Hope has always believed that every voice deserves the spotlight, not just one or two, and TLC classrooms provide that safe space for exploring creativity and building confidence. Since 2022, Hope has helped students land coveted jobs on Showtime, Netflix, Saturday Night Live and various humor publications. Hope is a certified Safe Zone Trainer, as well as a volunteer firefighter in their community and a board member for BuildABridge International. They have extensive experience in higher education, career counseling and non profit sectors. Along with a B.A. in Psychology, minors in Black Studies & Disaster Studies at SUNY New Paltz, Hope was even awarded the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Student Excellence 2011. OH YEAH!

Not everyone wants a Netflix Special. But everyone wants to share their humor with others — everywhere.

Beyond The LaughtHER Collective, Hope proudly serve as Outreach Coordinators for Laughing Together, a groundbreaking program created by Chris Gethard and Wellness Together. Through improv and stand-up, we use humor as a powerful tool for mental health advocacy in schools and communities. Hope has had the privilege of teaching workshops with sports teams, high school students, and campers at the Double H Ranch, and recently presented at the Wellness Together Conference in California for the last two years, while stage managing the entire event (seriously.). Hope is proud and eager to work with this incredible team to put together WTC, the largest mental wellness conference for students in the entire country.

Together, TLC is redefining comedy education for every single person!
