The mission of TLC
Comedy, humor, and laughter are a power route to develop life-skills confidently.
Incorporating leadership skills with comedy education, I take some traditional teaching methods, incorporate hands-on, demonstrative and interactive activities, and discuss real-world application.
For underrepresented people, comedy continues to be unapproachable and inaccessible. By keeping programs virtual and highlighting practical applications, I empower you to discover & utilize your unique voice and highlight your kind of humor.
By challenging norms, we turn meaningful dialogues into laughter, healing, while enacting social progress along the way. Bolder white women have moved the needle quite a bit, if you’ve noticed!
The HER in The LaughtHER Collective is because Hope was born a woman, a large percentage of the overlooked and underrepresented. I want it to be clear who these spaces are for which requires us all.
Bottom Line: EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
TLC’s pillars
Initially started by womxn+, and now led and focused on amplifying the underrepresented performer by bold, queer parent of 2 and Jordan of all trades (Hope identifies as non-binary). TLC focuses on equipping people with tools, resources and opportunities to narrow the gender gap in every industry with laughter at the forefront.
Womxn+ and diversity make up less than 25% of the stand up industry. A disparity TLC will disrupt.
WOMXN+
Laughter is the only medicine no one is allergic to #FACT which makes it by default, the best medicine. It may sound ridiculous, but humor has been proven to heal and extend your life. Don't believe me!?! Take a look at these studies from the Mayo Clinic and American University.
Healing
Like carbon emissions, TLC’s goal is to offsett an imbalance that should not exist in the first place! Where are the real authentic stories we actually identify with? In TLC spaces, the goal is that each and every voice can be heard shared and developed. Not just one.
I refuse to lose another unique perspective, joke or delivery because it's from a man, or a mom doens’t have time, or you’re queer and there’s nothing around you. To hell with those days!
Authenticity
Through guidance, support and opportunities, TLC prepares and elevates every and anyone to exist, persist and lead with conviction. The road has already been paved thanks to collective persistence from those long before us. But we're far from done. Now I’m painting lines, putting up signs and building community that lasts.
Tenacity
Everything about TLC is intentional. There is consideration put into everything I do from the curriculum to our pillars. I are driven by purpose and supported by tenacity (but mostly my wife, two kiddos, & 5 cats).
